Vineyard concerts: what to know
The big outdoor concerts are at wineries around Pokolbin, a short drive north-west of Cessnock. Roche Estate has a grassy amphitheatre among the vines, with the Red Hot Summer Tour on 31 October 2026 and LOOKOUT 2027 (+LIVE+, Stone Temple Pilots and 4 Non Blondes) on 20 March 2027. Bimbadgen hosts A Day on the Green; its 2026 show is Boyz II Men with Salt-N-Pepa and Bell Biv DeVoe on Saturday 5 December from 4pm.
- Parking is limited and usually pre-booked. For the Bimbadgen show, A Day on the Green says a parking pass must be bought in advance for $20 if you want a space, and that wet weather can close on-site parking (with shuttle buses instead).
- Coaches run from Newcastle, Maitland and Cessnock for the big shows; A Day on the Green lists Rover Coaches for Bimbadgen.
- Plan the trip home. Country roads, no streetlights and a long day: book a bus, a driver or a bed nearby.
Concerts in theatres
Indoor concerts run all year. The Civic Theatre in Newcastle has orchestras (the Sydney Symphony plays Max Richter's Four Seasons on 26 November), touring bands (Men At Work, Kim Wilde, The Church with an orchestra) and singers.
